  • In-Between: Financial Wellness w/ Emilie Dayan Hill

Welcome to the  Women’s Wellness Series! This week’s episode starts things off strong. Please welcome my new friend, financial queen, Emilie Dayan Hill. Emilie is a high net worth money manager here in Atlanta, GA. With her experience in the financial industry, Emilie created Finance That Feels. In its current state, Finance That Feels is a monthly publication on Substack that’s about making money more meaningful in our lives. More specifically, Emilie believes in Financial Wellness, and wants women everywhere to feel empowered with their money. In today’s episode, we’re talking about:
    • What is Financial Success versus Financial Wellness?
    • Finance Industry – why does it feel like women aren’t invited? Here’s a hint, statistically speaking, we’re not. Emilie breaks that down more and explains how the industry tends to serve men.
    • Money Wellness practices – monthly check-in; how that can break down intimidation towards taking control of your finances.
    • Growth mindset versus a scarcity mindset – how can you foster a healthy growth mindset when it comes to your finances.
    • Money Scripts – Money personalities we’ve adapted from our past and how we were raised; Emilie breaks down  the four different scripts, what they mean, and how we can work on our own.
    • How to cultivate Financial Wellness and find “enough.”

  • In-Between: What’s it like to be Introverted w/ Jay & Steph from Stay Introverted

We've all heard the word introvert, but what exactly does that mean? Jay and Steph from the Stay Introverted podcast join me on this week's In-Between and answer that very question and also explain how two introverts started a podcast.

In this week's episode, the three of us talk about:

    • What is an introvert? What does it mean to be introverted?
    • Misconceptions and unfair stereotypes about introverted individuals
    • Differences between introverts and extroverts and how they play off each other
    • Social dynamics and personal relationships between introverts and extroverts
    • How the pandemic highlighted the introverted community
    • What your introverted friends want you to know

As an extrovert myself, I learned SO much from Jay and Steph about being introverted. Heck, this conversations even made me question myself – am I fully extroverted? Another question, has my extroversion affected my introverted husband? **laughs nervously**

I also joined Jay and Steph on their podcast, so be sure to check that out too!

  • In-Between: Country Music & Real Estate

Howdy! Who else can't stop listening to Beyonce's Texas Hold 'Em? Let's take to the floor now –

    In this week's In-Between, I'm talking about:

    • Longer days are ahead! The sun will begin setting later in early March. Lookout summer girlys, we're close.
    • Country music – Beyonce, thank you. Because I can't stop listening to her new music, I'm getting served some country, specifically Lainey Wilson. I go on about what I love about her sound…. but I also share my thoughts about why I've never considered myself a country fan (lol).
    • Millennial confidence on social media
    • Millennial insecurity on gen z slang (HAHA!), aka me trying to be relevant. I'm truly humbled by my geriatric millennial status. Listen to see what I'm giggling about.
    • Are we buying a house?! No! Yes! Maybe! I'm giving you an update on that front,  but I'm sharing my thoughts on the online rhetoric about buying a home versus renting. I do not have all the answers, nor would I ever tell you what to do when it comes to housing, but I'm offering a little perspective from what I've noticed on social media, and how that has played into my anxiety and decision making.
    • Getting ready for my March Women's Wellness Series – it's going to jam packed with great content!

  • In-Between: Confidence, Navigating Social Media & Being Online w/ Sarah and Audrey from Completely F***ing Clueless

This week's In-Between episode invites special guests, Sarah Alice Liddy and Audrey Jean Flowers, from the Completely F***ing Clueless podcast!

Sarah and Audrey hail from the Big Apple itself, New York New York (sang like Frank Sinatra), and have that GZC – Gen Z Confidence, baby!

Seriously though, the three of us had so much fun. Topics for today's episode include:

    • Graduating college during a worldwide pandemic and how that affected Audrey's and Sarah's mindset (not just graduating but as musical theater majors no less!)
    • That Gen Z confidence we've heard so much about and how to channel your own
    • Navigating social media and owning that "cringe" content. FILM YOUR CONTENT!!
    • Growing up online, how the internet has shifted and how millennials and gen z need to stick together
    • Are we too online? Talking about the younger generation coming up and how the internet treats them

Sarah and Audrey are fabulous! This conversation empowered me to own my content and channel my self-confidence like a queen.

  • In-Between: Romanticizing Your Life

Hello February! In the theme of love, today's episode talks about romanticizing your life.  Maybe you heard this phrase during the pandemic, but we're essentially glamorizing the mundane day-to-day tasks. We are fabulous, even if we don't live in the French countryside, so why not play up our daily lives? I really love the concept because to me, it's another form of self love.

What else am I in-between this week?

    • February themes of love and Groundhog day; anyone else feel like it's still 2019?
    • New workout class
    • Unreal candy & finding healthier alternatives to snackies
    • Our country's new mental health support team, Sesame Street, starring Elmo!
    • Crushing my ADHD and to-do lists
    • Making friends on the internet – should I bring back my Adult Friendships series?
    • The Hurkle Durkle life

Don't forget to like, subscribe, and rate the show wherever you listed to your podcasts! Help ya girl out. 😉

  • In-Between: Overcoming Imposter Syndrome with Kristen

Please welcome special guest, Kristen, Host of the A Little Bit A Lot podcast to The In-Between this week!

Kristen and I met where everyone does nowadays, the internet. We both have similar vibes in that we want to entertain, promote positivity, and help everyone feel not so alone in their struggles.

In this week's episode, we're talking about:

    • Imposter Syndrome – the meaning of imposter syndrome, imposter syndrome in the workplace, how it shows up in your life, and how to combat imposter syndrome
      • Reminder: Why self love is important
    • Why start a podcast? Is starting a podcast worth it? Is going after anything that scares you worth it?
    • Childhood trauma – how the way you were treated or talked to shape the way you think and act as an adult
    • Pop culture corner – Nicki Minaj versus Megan Thee Stallion; what's going on with this beef?

  • In-Between: Oscar Noms, Grammar Woes, & Full Circle Moments

I'm full of energy on this week's In-Between. I'm talking about a lot of different little things, then sharing a full-circle moment I had over the weekend.

Let's see what we're chatting about:

    • Oscar Nominations – ummm hello Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie??
    • Upcoming Podcast Swaps
    • Glass Half Full on the "let's buy a house" front
    • My incompetence when it comes to grammar
    • Self care queen – face and hair masks?!
    • Is there a full blown musical performing in my head at all times?
    • BIG PICTURE –
      • The Power of words & language – why what we're consuming matters & my full circle moment with affirmations

That last bullet has a lot more nuance, so you'll have to listen to learn more! 😉

  • In-Between: Bopping Around & Catching Up

Why hello there! I had to take a "sick day" last week, so I apologize for the lack of notice on missing an episode last week. Do not fret! I'm catching you up on where I've been and what's been going on on this week's In-Between. I've been bopping here and bopping there, ya know.

    In this week's episode:

    • It's cold in Georgia! Don't make fun of us because we don't know how to "snow".
    • Vision Board Party Recap – it was a success!
    • …. however the party prep and planning, on top of the actual event, wiped me out! More on why I took a "sick day" and prioritized my needs.
    • Website progress! We're getting closer.  Should I do a giveaway with the launch?
    • Saltburn (I will leave it at that)
    • I'm still sad (& that's ok!). I'm going over why acknowledging that for myself is important.
    • Astrology!

I'm giving you life updates galore! Catch up with me and have a great rest of the week.

  • In-Between: The Magic of Vision Boards

Happy New Year! What are your plans for 2024? Can I interest you in a vision board?

In this week's episode, I delve into the steps to create your own vision board. Plus, we explore the psychology behind these visual aids. Did you know there's an area of neurons in your brain called the Reticular Activating System that plays a role in it? Fancy, right? Tune in to learn more.

I also touch upon monthly archetypes. While they aren't the same as vision boards, they can play a role in shaping your goals for the year.

Now, about vision boards – it's not that I think they are magical, no no. The real magic happens after you've established what you want and connected yourself emotionally to your goals.

Vision boards and monthly archetypes are not just tools; they're your ticket to a year filled with intention and unexpected magic. Who can argue with that? So, cheers to a new year and even more opportunity!  Let's do the dang thing.

  • In-Between: 2023 Review

Hey, lovely listeners! In this week’s episode, you're about to embark on a ride through my 2023 shenanigans – the good, the not-so-good, and the ugly-good (is that thing?). Picture this: not a single one of my “BIG 3” goals were met this year – HA.

I spill the beans on my plan at the start of the year and how life went, "Oh, you thought!" From tackling job aspirations, house-hunting woes, podcast growth, and losing Luna (talk about a “end of the year” implosion), I lay it all out with the heartfelt insight and comedic flair that is my life.

Through it all, I've discovered the magic of self-confidence, learned the value of perspective, and even adulted my way through setting up a new phone plan (cue the applause). Spoiler alert: adulting is still a scam.

2023 taught me how to survive and thrive on the unexpected curveballs.

So, here's to the lessons, the laughs, the wisdom gained, and the downright BS of the past year. 2024, I'm coming for you with my vision board in one hand and an espresso in the other. Buckle up, buttercups – The In-Between is going places!
